Digital Skills Empowerment Bootcamp

From May 23rd to 26th, 2024, I had the opportunity to develop and implement the Digital Skill Empowerment Program, which was specifically designed for NYSC members. The bootcamp aimed to provide these young professionals with essential digital skills that are crucial for their personal and professional growth. The event was conducted virtually on Google Meet, making it accessible to NYSC members across different locations.

Concept and Supervision: I developed the concept of the bootcamp with the goal of equipping NYSC members with a comprehensive understanding of key digital skills that would enhance their employability and entrepreneurial potential. My role involved overseeing the entire program to ensure it delivered practical and impactful training.

Training Segments: The bootcamp was organized into several segments, each led by an expert trainer:

Personal Branding: Guiding participants on how to build a strong personal brand in the digital space.
LinkedIn Optimization and Growth: Providing training on how to optimize LinkedIn profiles for better visibility and networking opportunities.

Social Media Positioning: Sharing strategies for effectively positioning oneself on various social media platforms.
Content Creation: Teaching techniques for creating engaging and relevant online content.
Data Analysis Training: Introducing tools and methods for analyzing data and deriving actionable insights.
AI Tools and Leveraging: Exploring AI tools to boost productivity and efficiency.
Website Building: Covering the basics of building and managing websites.

Delivery and Participation: Each segment was delivered by a specialized trainer in breakout sections. The classes were held concurrently, ensuring that participants received expert guidance in each area.

The sessions were interactive, with practical demonstrations, and I encouraged participants to ask questions and engage with the material fully.

Facilitating an Internship Programme

I worked as a FACILITATOR for the On The Job SKILLS SPRINT program organized by MindTheGap in partnership with GOOGLE, focusing on understanding and utilizing the Google Workspace. The programme aimed to equip teenagers and young adults with the digital skills necessary to thrive in today’s job market.

My role involved introducing participants to the core components of the Google Workspace, including Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail, and Drive. I emphasized the collaborative nature of these tools and demonstrated how they can be used to enhance productivity and teamwork. Through a combination of presentations, hands-on exercises, and real-world examples, I strove to make the training engaging and practical.

Overall, I found the participants to be enthusiastic and eager to learn. They quickly grasped the basic functionalities of the tools and were keen to explore advanced features. While most participants were able to follow along effectively, some required additional support in mastering certain aspects. To address this, I provided extra assistance during breaks and encouraged them to utilize the online resources available.

I believe the training was successful in equipping participants with a solid foundation in Google Workspace. I am confident that these skills will be invaluable as they embark on their professional journeys.
